An unrelseased episode of The Dark Is Rising, devised and composed by me.
The Dark is Rising is a 12-part serialisation of Susan Cooper’s 1970s classic book for families, written and recorded for the BBC World Service. Part-adaptation and part-dramatisation, this co-production between the BBC and Complicité is adapted by international best-selling author Robert Macfarlane and directed by Simon McBurney. The adaptation features original new contemporary folk music, and draws on Complicité’s trademark use of sound design. It will be publicly available in Christmas 2022.
I have employed JOSH SNEESBY on several productions and workshops at the National Theatre, making use of his unusual combination of enthusiasm, energy and tact. I have known Josh since the University of Southampton, where he was an outstanding student, full of interesting ideas and projects, all of which he followed through to completion - an unusual skill in an undergraduate student. A popular and sociable student, equally happy as a part of a team or leading one, his output was well organised and consistently on time. I have no hesitation in recommending him for DYCP.
